Our guide, Richard Furman, is a retired  Vocational Agriculture teacher from James River High School.  He has been a lifelong fisherman (wetting a line for 60 years) and longtime resident of Botetourt County.  Over the years he has fished the James, the New, the Shenandoah, the Staunton, the Maury, the Jackson, the Cowpasture, the Rappahannock, and the Rapidan rivers.  He has concentrated most of his river fishing for the past twenty years on the James River and the New River.  Conservation and protection of our river fisheries is a primary concern of Richard’s along with the philosophy that all fish he has caught in the last thirty years have been catch and release.  The primary purpose of this website is to present pertinent and current information with regards to fishing conditions, techniques, gear, and trip details — we do not sell anything from this website.  All bookings are handled by John and Dan Mays with Twin River Outfitters at canoevirginia.net or call the livery at 540-261-7334.   Enjoy our site, enjoy your fishing experiences, and keep a tight line.  Thanks
